This course will begin with a process oriented approach to scriptwriting. Writing exercises will develop basic skills in character development, conflict, plot structure and language. The first half will consist of writing exercises culminating into a draft of a one act play or short-film screenplay that will be developed through the second half of the workshop. Students will be introduced into the world of scriptwriting through creative application of traditional structures, as well as introduction to contemporary scriptwriting styles.
