Shashi Balooja (www.shashi.tv) is a thriving and award winning actor and filmmaker. This year alone, Shashi will co-star and star in four feature films.  The first film, which he also co-produced, “AND THEN CAME LOVE” is currently being distributed by Warner Brothers, and opened on June 5^th 2007 in theaters.  The film also stars Vanessa Williams, Eartha Kitt, Ben Vereen, Michael Boatman and Stephen Spinella. 

Shashi is also the executive producer, co-director and star of the film “EXPOSED” (www.myspace.com/exposedthemovie) ; along with Opal Alladin of “UNITED 93” and The Public Theatre’s (Shakespeare in the Park) 2007 summer production of “Romeo & Juliet”; and Will Janowitz from the critically acclaimed HBO series “The Sopranos”.  “EXPOSED” will be released in the fall of 2007.  The third film is “DIRTY SALSA”, which completed shooting in the winter of 2006.  Shashi’s fourth film this year is currently in development and is titled “CRUMBLING”.  Recently, he starred in the multi award winning film Ariana (www.arianafilm.com), which he also co-wrote, co-directed, and served as executive producer.

A short time ago, Shashi appeared at Guild Hall in “Moby Dick Rehearsed” by Orson Welles, which was directed by the Oscar, Tony, and Emmy Award winner Tony Walton and starred Peter Boyle.  Recently, he has performed on stage with Mercedes Ruehl, Alec Baldwin, Marian Seldes, Eli Wallach, and many other veterans of film and theater at the prestigious Guild Hall in Easthampton, where he has performed every year for the past five years.

Shashi has also worked in television on the show “Jack and Jill” as well as the NBC shows “Deadline” and “Law and Order: SVU”.  Additionally, he had a  recurring role on the public access soap, “In Our World”.  Shashi is an alumnus of Marymount Manhattan College with concentrations in theater and business.
